Que Pasa Calabaza

Hola hola hola! Phrase of the week is "Que Pasa Calabaza" and it's similar to "What's up buttercup". One of the elders started saying it and now everyone says it. The elders are so funny. They had a friend throw boxing gloves over the fence so they had a boxing match one night. It wasn't just a play fight, it was real...with real hard punches. One of the elders got a bloody nose lol. They are so crazy but fun!


I have officially been a missionary for a month! The days are kind of slow but the weeks go by so fast. I am learning so much spanish. The teachers only speak Spanish and I can understand mostly everything they are saying. The gift of tongues is real. I am still not good at Spanish but I have improved so much. Also...I joined the choir with my companions hehe. I know...very surprising haha...but it is actually so fun. I'm terrible at singing but it is so fun to sing with hundreds of missionaries and feel the spirit.


We had Elder Curtis from the Seventy at our devotional last night. He helps in making the Book of Mormon videos and he showed us a few clips that will be released in the Fall. They were so cool! Some of the clips he showed us were of Jesus Christ coming to the Americas and when he called the 12 apostles. A member from the quorum of the twelve told him that the scene where they call the 12 apostles was one of the most important parts of the video. He then referred to our mission calls and how Jesus Christ gave us our calls. It doesn't matter where we go on our missions, God has a plan for us. We are just instruments of the Lord-called to do his work. This isn't our work, it's God's work. And we need to become better instruments to teach others about the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring us.

Holaaaaa!! The time has come to an end. I will be leaving Peru on Friday and will make it to Idaho on Saturday! Im so excited to see everyone but also a little heartbroken to leave all the wonderful people Ive met. Peru will always have a place in my heart. I Got My Visa!

Okayyyy so guess what?! I got my visa! There were only 2 missionaries out of all 30-40 Peru missionaries at the MTC that got their visa. I was one of them! It's a MIRACLE! I leave for Peru on Monday and I'm so excited. God definitely has a plan for me and there must be someone in Peru that needs me.  This week has been super good. My Spanish is coming along. It's going to be so sad leaving my companions and district. I love them so much and it will be hard saying goodbye. We are still just having classes everyday trying to learn spanish. One night the fire alarm went off, my other two companions had just gotten out of the shower and were running to put clothes on to leave. The cops came and were trying to figure out what happened but no one knows. The very next night we had to go get medicine and as we were walking back, the MTC president stopped and asked us why there were so many people outside after hours. He told us to do better. Holaaaaa!! I have officially been a missionary for 1 year! The hardest year of my life. The best year for my life. A year of learning. A year of patience. A year of growing. A year of meeting the most amazing people. A year of making friendships. A year of coming closer to my savior. A year of miracles. A year that I will never forget. A year of love for my heavenly father and Jesus christ. There have been times where I've just wanted to give up. But in these times, the Lord gave me strength to press forward. I am so grateful for all the many experiences I have had in Peru and I'm excited for these last 6 months. One of my favorite things about the mission is the opportunity we have to meet new people.
