Yeet!!

Hola hola! This week has been difficult but it was better than last week. I can't understand hardly anything but luckily my companion speaks pretty good English. The other day we were walking and this guy is waving at me and talking to me. I didn't understand what he was saying so I just waved back and said "hola! Buenos tardes!". My companion grabs my arm and tells me to keep walking haha. Apparently that guy was saying "my love! My darling!" but I didn't know that because I don't understand any spanish! Also I'm the only white person here so everyone looks at me as we walk by haha its funny. The American elders here are teaching the Peruvians English. They are teaching them words like clown, jokester, silly goose, ghetto, and YEET!! It's so funny. I've never heard the word yeet more in my life until now haha.

I've learned a lot about Perú these last couple of weeks. There's dogs everywhere here. Some of them are scary. One of the elders has got bitten twice in the last month. So now I carry a rock in my backpack just in case a dog starts chasing us. The people here are so short. I'm probably a foot taller than the bishop haha. The people here are so nice and patient with my broken Spanish. We have a pensionista so she makes us food and we also have someone who does our laundry so we get treated very well. The food is kind of interesting here. We eat a lot of rice, potatoes, and chicken. It's not terrible but I'm already getting tired of it.

We went to the temple here in Trujillo on Thursday as a zone and it was so good! I love the temple and it's so pretty. There's such an amazing spirit there. The other day I was struggling. I was so sad, feeling down, and frustrated with everything. I prayed for help and started my personal study. I read in the Book of Mormon and I was overcome with such peace. I was filled with so much joy and I was happy the rest of the day. The Book of Mormon truly is an incredible book. The BoM can give us peace, strength, and answers to our questions. It such a powerful tool that we all need to use. I wish I would've read it more before the mission because it has changed my life. I invite yall to read the Book of Mormon today!

Thanks for all the prayers and emails! I appreciate it and love you all so so much! Have a fabulous week!!
