Double Digits

Whats up friends and family! Heres my update for the week!!

Mon: met with our district at the church. We made some tequeños which is like a kind of dough and we put a hot dog inside and then fried it. We usually put cheese but estamos agujas and we didnt have enough money. So basically its a peruvian styled pig ina blanket. Twas rico. 

Tues: Had a lesson with Yuriko, we LOVE her!! Shes the cutest ever. We got to hold her hamsters haha. My comp started dying so we went back to the apartment and contacted some people.

Wed: my comp was still dying so we stayed in the house all day. However we had a nice lessons over the phone, contacted so MANY people, and I was able to study. It was actually kinda chill and nice having a bunch of time to study.

Thurs: rip hermana stromsdorfer. Another day in the house so she could get feeling better. Got some more studies in and contacted more people. We didnt do much this day....

Fri: hermana Strömsdörfer resurrected and we were able to go to consejo de distrito!! Our district is the best! The elders are so much fun, they try to speak english to us and its just the cutest and bestest thing ever. We also had a family home evening with Julio. He talked with our bishop and he wants to get baptized. We put him on date for October 14th, its a miracle. We talked more about baptism and the gospel with him in this FHE. This man has given me so much stress, but he's also so funny and kind. We ended the night with homemade oreo milkshakes and they were actually so good, maybe better than the states....

Sat: hermanas Strömsdörfers resurrected body made it through five hours of cleaning a beach. We met up at 7am and went to Huanchaco to do service. Almost our entire mission was there, it was so fun seeing all the other missionaries. I also got to see my friends from the other wards I served in. It was a party!! We found lots of trash and bones (they were whale bones dont worry haha). We also ran into a lot of drunk guys this week. One guy got really close to us, took our hand and kissed it. The other week this guys says in english, "hello babes" then he starts walking towards us so we we start walking faster and eventually stopped. Theres alot more drunks here and we get more comments because we are both gringas but the Lord protects us.

Sun: we went to church and we had two friends come. One of them was a miracle because he just got surgery but he came anyways! We visited a few people and ended the night with our weekly zoom with the mission. Twas a good day.

D&C 84:63

"ye are they whom my Father hath given me; ye are my friends;"

We have come into this world full of evil, problems, trials, and so much more that push us down. But the person who has has gone through it all more than we can even imagine is our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are His friends. We have been sent here for a purpose. We have been sent to support our Savior and to progress. He needs us here. He needs our help. He needs our love. There is no one we can trust more than our Savior. I am proud to be his friend. I am grateful to be here. I am grateful for opportunity that God has given me.
