Happy Thanksgiving!
This week was wild but it was so good! I hope yall had a fabulous thanksgiving. Heres what happened this week:
Mon: more volleyball and card games with our tiny district. We visited a couple of people at night
Tues: we had a powerful lesson with Cynthia about the restoration and it totally gave us energy all day. We had interviews with president which are always amazing and uplifting. We had 4 other lessons that day which were super cool. We ended the day with a little birthday party, she gave us good food, and this time there werent ants haha. Also shoutout to my little bro, hes going to the California Sacramento mission wohoooo! We are giving are homecoming and farewell talk on december 31st, everyones invited :)
Wed: wild day!! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It was one of the bests!! We went out and ate chaufa with some members. After, we got some lemon pie...ricooooo. then we had a couple of lessons. Another family invited us over for some cake. Then another family invited us over for more cake and pizzahut. We ate so much food. I was filled with so much love from all the messages and amazing people that shared so much when they have so little. I love Peru!
Thurs: had some lessons, got rejected alot but we endured and found someone new to teach!
Fri: another day of alot of rejection and appointments falling through. We were praying for a miracle! We had another powerful lesson with Cynthia. It was a miracle that we found her the week before. She is reading the book of mormon and watched the restoration movie in her own time. We invited her to get baptized and she said yes. She knows its something very important. Pray that she can continue to develop her faith and stay strong these next couple weeks.
Sat: another wild day! Yuriko got baptized!!! It was very long but beautiful baptism. Her mom and brother came. It was a miracle that her brother came. They said the people in the church are different and that there is alot of unity and love. Yuriko was super happy. She is great example for her family, i know one day her family will also make this important decision to follow christ. Also...cynthia came to the baptism! In the afternoon we went to the temple and had a lesson with 3 of our friends on the temple grounds. It was so beautiful and powerful. I love the temple and the peace we can find there.
Sun: yuriko got confirmed and her mom came to church too. Her family had a good experience in her baptism. Cynthia also came to church! Her faith and desire to learn is incredible! We went finding and got more rejection but we were able to find someone new!
Wow, my heart is filled with so much love! Love for my family, friends, peru, the gospel, and the atonement of jesus christ. The atonement is real. When we take the sacrament, are we just eating bread and water? Or are we being spiritually fed from the body and blood of christs atonement?
We must always remember him and his atonement. His atonement heals every wound. Its healed my wounds. I invite yall to think about the atonement and the symbolism of the sacrament next sunday. Renewing our covenants each week helps us be spiritually fed to endure and hang on.
I love you all so so much!!
